15 May 2009 - First confirmed A(H1N1) case in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15, 2009 (AFP) - Malaysia confirmed Friday its first case of swine flu, the country's top health official said.

"I can confirm (that it) is the first case in Malaysia," Health Director General Ismail Merican told AFP.

Merican's confirmation followed a statement from the health ministry giving details of the country's first case.

"The patient is a 21-year-old male student who had just returned from the United States on May 13, 2009 and who was down with fever, sore throat and body aches on May 14," it said.

"This is the first A(H1N1) flu case found in Malaysia," the statement added.

It said the patient went into the Sungai Buloh quarantine facility in central Selangor state on the same evening and is now in a stable condition.

The latest World Health Organisation figures show the number of laboratory-confirmed swine flu cases worldwide is 6,497 in 33 countries. A total of 65 people have died from the disease, most of them in Mexico, WHO figures show.

The health ministry urges all passengers aboard Malaysia Airlines MH 091 from Newark arriving KLIA at 7.15 a.m. on 13 May (Wednesday) to contact the ministry at 03-88810200/300.

今天是什么日子？
今天除了是母亲节，除了是Ding Ding生日，
除了是陈泓宇&谢韵仪大喜之日之外，
也是我们曾家长孙-我堂哥的大喜之日哦...！哈哈！
于是我们各个七早八早就起来了，
因为长辈们还得到大伯家去进行敬酒仪式。

趁新娘车还没到，大伙儿当然是先填抱肚子的说...
桌上的食物多数都是极富马来传统的食物，
目的是要向卿家们介绍我们马来西亚的传统和特色。
因为咱们的新娘子正是从中国来的。
听说是堂哥在中国出差时认识滴哦！
不过现在二人已经在新加坡定居和发展了！

新娘车终于来到了。炮竹声也突然响起～
把正在享用早餐的我吓个正着！哇唠～
我也听从长辈们的话，立即把头转去后面，背对新娘子，
因为他们说新娘子当天的杀气是特别大的，不能和她正面相对！

睡了一个小觉后，下午2pm我们来到Taman Molek的北京楼喝喜酒了!
特别吧，下午喝喜酒，这也是我的第一次！
酒席并没有很多！我们每人都会得到一个小礼包，
里面装的是桔子和红枣蜜饯，意指甜甜蜜蜜，早生贵子～！

等了将近1小时，酒席终于开始了！我的肚子早已闹革命了！
但在这之前，先有请这对新人上台切蛋糕！
本人不是很喜欢这件晚装，颜色过于朴素了点，有点宽松的感觉！XD

正当我们明争暗斗地享用美食时，
这对新人又再一次被叫上台开香槟，和交杯酒！
对于这件晚装嘛，本人认为比之前那件好很多，小露香肩但不失端庄！
浅蓝色给人一种清新的感觉！

新人的家人也一起被邀上台与在桌的所有来宾敬酒！
饮~饮~饮~~胜！
就这样，堂哥的婚礼就在亲朋好友的祝贺声下圆满落幕！
祝堂哥与堂嫂百年好合，早生贵子！ ^ ^

SWINE FLU FAQ

Well, i think everyone knows that Swine Flu is getting serious around the world recently. However, how much you know about Swine Flu? What should we do to prevent swine flu infection? I just want to share something very important to all my friends here if you still have a vague notion about SWINE FLU. It is not joking, kindly be patient and do the needful subsequently.

What is swine flu?

It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. It regularly causes high flu outbreaks in pigs but with low death rates. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.

What does H1N1 mean?

The “H” refers to the viral hemagglutinin protein, and the “N” refers to the neuraminidase protein (enzyme). There are H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3 strains of swine flu endemic in pig populations.

What are swine flu symptoms?

The symptoms are similar to those of regular flu:
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Runny nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Lack of appetite
- Vomiting and diarrhoea in some cases

How does swine flu spread? Is it airborne?

The new swine flu virus apparently spreads just like regular flu. You could pick up germs directly from an infected person, or by touching an object they recently touched, and then touching your eyes, mouth, or nose, delivering their germs for your own infection. That's why you should make washing your hands a habit, even when you're not ill. Infected people can start spreading flu germs up to a day before symptoms start, and for up to seven days after getting sick, according to the CDC- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The swine flu virus can become airborne if you cough or sneeze without covering your nose and mouth, sending germs into the air.

Is there a vaccine （疫苗） against the new swine flu virus?

No. But the CDC and the World Health Organization are already taking the first steps toward making such a vaccine. That's a lengthy process -- it takes months.

How can I prevent swine flu infection?

The CDC recommends taking these steps:

• Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Or use an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
• Covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the waste basket after you use it.
• Avoid close contact with sick people.
• Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

Can I still eat pork?

Yes. You can't get swine flu by eating pork. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 70ºC and above kills the swine flu virus.

Which countries have had cases of the swine flu?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed human cases of swine flu in Mexico, the United States, Canada and Spain. Only Mexico has reported deaths from the new strain.

Are there any travel restrictions or advisories for Malaysians?

The Health Ministry on April 27 advised Malaysians against travelling to certain places in the United States, Mexico and Canada which have been affected by the swine flu.

What precautions are in place in Malaysia?

- The Health Ministry’s operations room in Putrajaya has started a 24-hour monitoring of the situation. The public can call 03-8881 0200/300 for enquiries.

- Those returning from Latin American countries and found to have flu-like symptoms will be quarantined.

- Health Ministry officials are conducting health screenings on passengers arriving from the United States.

- Thermal scanners will be placed at international airports to speed up the screening process for swine flu.

- Public and private medical practitioners have been instructed to report to the district health office any patient with influenza-like illnesses or severe pneumonia symptoms and who had travelled to the affected countries after April 17.

- Owners of the 797 pig farms nationwide have been ordered to immediately contact the nearest Veterinary Services Department office or the Animal Disease Control Centre if their workers or animals show symptoms linked to the swine flu.

25 April 2009 - 狮 城 闯 荡 记

是的，这个星期六我不用上班。
晨光初透，我便起床准备，因为再过一会儿我就要出国了。
我等这一天等了超久滴，好不容易给我熬过了五天的工作天，
星期六终于来临了～ 心情简直就是超High滴～！
谁知，半途大雨突然倾盆而下！但是，这并没有浇熄我心中的热火...
因为我们是驾车出国的！区区雨水，怎么可能终止我们这次的征途呢？
在JB吃完Brunch后，我们的狮城闯荡记就此展开！
本人对于新柔的新关卡感到意外，比想象中有效率，设计也很先进。
说来惭愧，这是新关卡建成后，我第一次出境，护照又多了个印章了！
去狮城有什么目的？答案就是没目的，就只是出来逛逛看看，消磨时间！

一开始我们只是没目的地的乱窜，一直绕啊绕啊绕！
莫名其妙地经过了不少地标性的地方！
如Singapore Flye啦r，滨海湾啦，Changi Airport啦，
榴莲壳啦，新加坡动物园等。
我们也终于知道新加坡动物园是这么靠近关卡滴，下次要去就容易了～
原本打算进机场逛逛滴，谁知parking fee贵得吓人！＠＠



最后，我们决定来到 Suntec City-新达城 落脚！
在新加坡市中心，有五座奇特的高楼，围成一圈，像是五根张开的手指。
在“手指”的中央，是一座巨型喷泉，每天定时喷水。
这组建筑有一个美丽的名字——财富之泉，是由李嘉诚等人投资兴建的。
这名为《财富之泉》的喷泉就坐落于新达城内！
水對華人來說意味著財富，此噴泉之水向內流，象徵保留財富與好運。
也意味着新加坡的财富如泉水般汩汩奔涌...

每天都會有許多的游客來到這里觸碰泉水并接受《財富之泉》的祝福，
但有以下四個步驟必須順序進行。
1） 伸出右手觸摸泉水。
2） 默默許下心愿。
3） 順着箭頭所指的方向步行。
4） 繞着噴泉走三圈。
反正都来到了，试一试也不会亏本，于是我们也跟着做了！
至于觸摸了泉水是不是真的就會心想事成，
那就要看你跟《財富之泉》有沒有緣分咯～

虽然只是相隔一条街，终于我们从Suntec City走到了Marina Square！
好不容易才找到7-11来为我们的Auto Pass充值！
逛了这么久，我们都饿疯了，就索性在Marina Square的一间“Pariss Buffet Restaurant"喝 high tea!
$ 19.80 nett, 心满意足的我们各个都饱到喉咙了！
看来晚餐也可以免了！嘿嘿～

幸亏我们在新达城拿了一大堆地图，于是我们依着地图路线，
不到10分钟就来到了Bugis Junction。
有了地图，要到那儿都好办多了！真是的！
在Bugis Junction逛了一阵子，我们打算到对面的Bugis Street看看！
可是，却遇到“塞人”的景象！等待越过马路的人群也未免太多了吧！
要等2次红绿灯才能轮到我们过马路！而且寸步难移, 好恐怖啊～～
Bugis Street给我的感觉有点像mini的茨场街，东西的价钱比较大众化！

沿途走着，我们莫名其妙走到了新加坡远近驰名的“四马路观音庙”
原来新加坡还真的是小！
人家李铭顺，范文芳每年都会到这里上香祈福的哦！ （听人家说的）
我们当然也不忘顺道祈福，讨个心安！观音保佑！

接着我们又步行来到了这间新开的shopping mall - ILUMA.
才开不久，一些商店都还没营业！但是，却不乏人群，人潮依然拥挤！
见证了做新加坡人的生意肯定很好赚！XD

当我们走出 ILUMA 时，天色已经转暗了！也是我们踏上归途的时候了！
但，在之前当然要到 《昇菘超市》 补给货物啦！不忘在这里买便宜货啦！
我把我全有的精力都放在这里，要大卖特卖！哈～
因为其他地方的东西，我都买不下手！要知道 2.42的影响力可不小哦！
当然，我们不忘把我们的收据投进了抽奖箱，
为了参加第8波道的《缤纷万千在昇菘》的抽奖游戏！
这样我们就有机会得到“百倍奉还”，
天啊～＄3，155.00 x 2.42 = RM 7,635.10
发达了！发达了！期待下个星期六～！

我们也满载而归了！这次不用再两手提得重重的过Check Point了！赞！
这次的狮城闯荡记给我带来了不同的体验！
要切记只要地图在手，想去哪儿就去哪儿！哈哈！
好了，狮城闯荡记在这里也暂时告一段落了。期待下一次的闯荡...

四月の最近

转眼，四月即将结束，
一个真正属于我的节日，劳动节又要到了。
说真的，以前的我并没很期待五月一号这一天的来临，
但，在成为上班族后，我早在半年前就开始倒数五一劳动节了～ 哈！
今年五一，当然是选择在家睡觉，因为那是我的嗜好，更是我的梦想！

最近... ...

过得比较平淡，没有什么新鲜事。
比较特别的也许是来到 《宫》
没错，就是韩剧里面的 《宫》。一间韩国烧烤餐厅！
装潢尚算OK,好在他的食物够丰盛！
五花肉，辣炒苏东，鸡肉炖糯米人参，煎蛋卷，煎饺子，
香辣水豆腐鸡蛋汤，粉丝拌菜，还有吃不完的小菜等！

最近... ...

大老远去到CS就只是吃顿晚餐。
《金凯利香港餐厅》
吃饱，商店也关门了，就回家去了！

最近... ...

去了PERODUA Services Centre 安装后座安全带。
没想到，这里的设备还真齐全，逛得我不亦乐乎！
在等的当儿，我们可以坐坐看看啦，打打乒乓啦，玩玩电脑游戏啦，
Wi-fi无线上网啦，看看Astro啦，吃喝免费的茶水啦，
试坐新车啦，跟营业代表吹吹水啦等等！不错的体验！

等了大半年,终于轮到我了。大家记得要系上安全带哦！

最近... ...

我又犯了同样的错误！我竟然再次把车钥匙反锁在车内！
真是罪该万死！唉，这是我在Nando's等待救兵时喝的 Ice Chocolate!

最近... ...

傍晚放工时分，回家的这条路上，塞车的情况越来越严重！
这只是工程的开始呀，真不敢想象以后的日子会怎样！

明天周末，跟朋友约好进新加坡吃吃逛逛，好期待哦！！ ^ ^

One Night 4 college students were playing till late night and could not study for the test which was scheduled for the next day.

In the morning they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty with grease and dirt. They then went up to the Dean and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tire of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test. So the Dean said they could have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they would be ready by that time.

On the third day they appeared before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test, all four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.

The Test consisted of 2 questions with a total of 100 Marks.

11 April 2009 - 阿宅の星期六

哈哈～真好！今天星期六不用上班～可以窝在家里什么都不管！
首先，当然是睡到自然醒啦！这可是上班族的我每天都渴望的一件事！
今天终于等到了，睡到正午12点才甘愿醒来！ 赞！
起身第一件事不是刷牙洗脸，而是扭开电脑，链接网路，开MSN!哈！
接着当然是打开Facebook,看看大家有什么更新～
在 Pet Society 里玩玩逛逛后，又到了冲凉吃饭的时间！
这时才甘愿刷牙洗脸！午饭后，当然是继续面对电脑！
Dota，听歌，唱歌，上网，整个下午就这样过去了！
哦～对了，下午还下了场大雨，舒服极了！
傍晚5pm时，不忘打开电视观看超级偶像-Super Idol
接着，难得好天气，就小睡了两个小时。
不知不觉睡到8pm，又到了冲凉吃饭的时间！
吃饭时，还是边吃饭边对着电脑看《康熙》。
饭后又继续跟朋友Dota到现在，11.30pm。
现在又在部落格记录着我《 阿宅の星期六》～很宅吧！
哎呀～不跟大家谈了，要去看U频道的《我猜》了～
又要继续宅下去了....哈哈！

31 March 2009 - 地南小贩中心与我

这一天早晨，是地南小贩中心所有小贩们营业的最后一天。
28-10-1986建立，一个与我一起成长的小贩中心，
终究逃不过被拆除的厄运。
因为政府要加宽当地路段和兴建Flyover,
拖拖拉拉了半年的时间，
终于要改写地南唯一小贩中心这23年的历史了。
还蛮感触的，毕竟它曾经陪我一起走过这23年的路。
还记得小时候，每逢星期天早晨，我一定会随着爸妈步行到这儿吃早餐。
一杯豆奶和一碗老鼠粉汤，仿佛成了我每个星期天的菜单。
懒惰在家赖床的时候，也不忘“吩咐”母亲帮我打包那儿的干捞面。
上了中学，我的补习班又恰好在对面，每每早上10点补完习后，
都会和朋友一起享受这儿的炸肉面，猪肚面，鸡脚面等！
这也是我们上补习班唯一的推动力吧！哈～
中三中四那年，每次华文学会活动后，
我们一群执委们一定会来到这儿吃冰，谈论刚刚的活动，闲话家常！
有时家里没有煮晚饭时，我们一家人也会来这里的凤宝煮炒解决晚餐！
父母外出不在家时，我的三餐也是在这里解决的。
上了大学，甚少有机会在这儿吃东西了，
没有像小时候一样跟着父母到这儿吃早餐了，
也没有再像中学时候一样，一群朋友在这儿聊天吃东西了...
人，长大了，就向往外面的世界了，怎会愿意留守在同样的地方呢？
渐渐的，我对这儿感到很陌生...
直到踏入社会做工后，我不时还会吃到爸爸在这儿打包回来的芋头糕，
粿条仔，椰浆饭做为早餐。这，才再次唤醒我那沉睡已久的眷恋。


但，这一切的一切在这一天已经彻底地结束了。
对地南小贩中心的那份眷恋，也将永远在我心底沉睡着... ...

28 March 2009 - I Did VOTE EARTH!!

Guessing what i have done for past 60 minutes?
Yes, i was participating the EARTH HOUR with my parent!
Appreciated it coz my parent was willing to do so...Haha!
May be someone will feel that i was fool,
coz it's just a house of me was turning dark at 8.30pm,
however i felt really proud to the action what i did just now,
although it's merely 1 hour!!
Tell u a secret, I have never thought that,
just an action of simply switching off the light,
can bring me such feeling of proud. Haha...
Wondering what did i do during the EARTH HOUR?
Nothing to do, i was just lying on my bed, doing N times of sit up,
waiting and wishing the time passing faster...
it seems very meaningless, right?
But it is very meaningful indeed, isn't it? Haha!
If you have missed the chance, we anticipate the Earth Hour 2010.
It is not about what country you’re from,
but instead, what planet you’re from.
Together we can take control of the future of our planet,
for future generations.

天啊～～我又老一岁了...！！
正式步入第23个年头了，而我，却一直在原地踏步...怎么办？
茫然...对生日充满了恐惧！怕怕～ XD
唉...管他的...我只要开开心心的活在当下就够了！！
今年的生日跟往年一样，一点也不寂寞哦～
很开心还有一群好友陪我度过...嘿嘿！

星期六晚上，和朋友约好去吃火锅庆祝～
感谢老天爷在傍晚时分下了场大雨，
寒冷的天气更加提起我们吃火锅的瘾啊～赞啊！！
火锅店那儿有个歌台，欢迎所有志愿者上台演唱...
顿时勾起我想上台表现的欲望...哈！
可是经过我内心的反复挣扎后，我终究放弃了这个念头，免得丢人现眼啊！
因为台下的我也只是一直忙着嘲笑别人而已！哈哈～
朋友快谢谢我啊，因为身为寿星公的我今晚做东！！
怎么办，每年生日我都请客，我好像养成这个坏习惯了！
总觉得生日没请客，就好像不是过生日酱！　＠＠　晕～
火锅后，我们全身臭臭来到了《MoonLight Cafe》 2nd round...
也不知我们从哪儿学来的规矩，好像一定要在cafe吹蜡烛切蛋糕,
才算完成整个庆祝会似的！
不过呢，这还真的让我倍感窝心哦～赫赫!

蛋糕被捧过来的那一刻，一点惊喜也没有咯！哈哈～
因为服务生就只是直接地把整粒蛋糕放在我们桌上！冷...
哈哈，趁蜡烛还没点上之前快点和蛋糕来张合照吧～

狂欢了2个小时半，一个人才RM8!!!!! @@
最重要的是，朋友请我唱K~赚到了！

很开心我的12am不是在睡梦中度过的！

星期一早晨

谢谢妈妈弄了两颗不红的“红鸡蛋”给我当早餐！^ ^
还给了我一个红利事讨个好吉利～
古人有云，拨一个壳，脱一个难!
妈妈要我自己轻手拔蛋壳，这才会灵验！希望是真的！

到了公司，同事们的口都好像被订书机钉住了似的...
一句生日快乐都没说！一向行事低调的我，也没当一会儿事！
直到5.30pm放工时，同事们才拿出一个小老虎的生日蛋糕为我庆生！
哈哈！被吓到的咯！很意外～还以为大家都忘了！
天啊～好可爱的蛋糕！真舍不得把你吃掉！
这蛋糕可是我这23年来所拥有过最美最特别的蛋糕了！
忘了提了，这小老虎全是燕菜做成的哦！真的很特别！
好开心哦～！哈哈～谢谢你们！
